Testing & Inspection

Every game that comes in goes through a thorough multi-step process. We believe in quality over quantity—We’d rather deliver you one working game than ten scratched-up broken ones.

What we do (and why)

We start with a visual inspection of the disc, then play test it—regardless of cosmetic condition. Based on performance, we determine if the disc needs a resurfacing (or a light buff). After that, we play test again to verify clean reads and stable play. Finally, we picture the item, clean the case, and list it on the site for your enjoyment. Preserving physical media matters to us, and we put in the work.

Our Process

1

Visual Inspection

Check for scratches, cracks, chips, label integrity, and heavy swirl patterns.

2

Initial Play Test

Boots? Loads levels? Streams audio/video cleanly? We log any hiccups here.

3

Resurfacing Decision

We choose no buff, light buff, or a full resurfacing based on read behavior—not just looks.

4

Resurface / Buff (if needed)

Precision pass to restore readability while preserving the disc’s lifespan.

5

Verification Play Test

We re-test after resurfacing to confirm clean boots, stable loads, and normal gameplay.

6

Photo & Cleanup

Clear photos, case wiped down, inserts straightened—presentation matters.

List on GGWP

Once it meets our standard, it’s posted—so you know you’re getting a game that works.

Notes & Standards

  • Play tests are performed on real hardware (not emulators).
  • We don’t “grade on a curve”—if it doesn’t pass cleanly, it won’t be listed as working.
  • Cartridges & consoles get equivalent functional checks (pins cleaned, boots, in-game test).
  • Some discs don’t require any buffing; we only resurface if it improves reliability.
